Lauren Morrison

Cocktail Designer

Stem Wine Bar

Oregon native! Lauren Morrison grew up in Silverton and moved to Portland about 4 years ago. Her thing about Portland is definitely the bar and restaurant scene. Some of Morrison's favorite places are Stem Wine Bar (obviously), Ava Genes for dinner, and Pepe Le Moko for cocktails. Morrison has loved learning more about wine at Stem, and has been able to use her background in bartending to craft brut cocktails and be creative. French wines are her favorite and lately she has been drinking Gamays, Rhone blends, and Cab Francs.

Wei-En Tan

Owner & Wine Director

Stem Wine Bar

Wei-En Tan was born in Singapore but spent many years of her youth in her family’s vineyard in Bordeaux and later Burgundy, immersing herself in viticulture and learning an appreciation of minimal intervention and respect for terroir. Alongside a stint as a commercial pilot and competitive aerobatics, Tan obtained her PhDs, masters and bachelor degrees in Mathematics, Economics, Political Science and Comparative Literature from Stanford, Cornell and Harvard Universities. After aerospace and venture roles, she founded her own company in AI Medical Imaging, moved to Portland and fell in love with Oregonian wines. Stem Wine Bar is her passion, and as wine director, her goal is to create an "Oregon Meets the World" menu focused on flights and glass options, with no judgment or pretension, so everyone can taste as many wines as they can, or revisit old favorites in good company.
