Be That One Guy

Vicki O'Leary, Ironworkers International

BTOG trainings teach participants about the domino effect of harassment and help members understand their own ability to transition from a bystander to an Upstander. Union supervision, leadership and signatory contractors learn a better way to handle situations - one that shifts us away from the aggressor-biased solutions used in the past and embraces the power of Upstanders to become part of the solution. The concept of bystanders having the power to change jobsite culture is the core of our program.
